Beach Walk 238 OTR – More Rox Travel Tips

I’m traveling from Santa Fe to Honolulu today and share some more travel tips with you.

For those of you who are new here, I usually walk the beach with my dog Lexi in Hawai’i. But I am on the road traveling for my job, so you get to come along with me! I like to think of Beach Walks as much as an attitude as a place. A place where we explore the edges of the known world, and think differently.

I am so happy to be going home!!! I love to travel, but it can be stressful, so I continually add to my tricks and tips for being as comfortable as possible. Here’s my first Travel Tips Episode.

Here are some of the things I mentioned in today’s show:
Foti Filter (disclaimer: made by friends of mine!)
Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
Emer’gen-C

Beach Walk 231 OTR – Clearing Up Prejudice

I like to look past the wires and street signs in favor of the snow-capped mountains in the distance.

For those of you who are new here, I usually walk the beach with my dog Lexi in Hawai’i. But I am on the road traveling for my job, so you get to come along with me! I like to think of Beach Walks as much as an attitude as a place. A place where we explore the edges of the known world, and think differently.

The video camera was distracted by the street clutter and had a hard time zooming in on the snowy peaks in the distance. I realized that I too get distracted by people’s surface characteristics… At the same time, I understand how much “stuff” fills our field of vision, and that filtering is a necessary part of coping on a day to day basis.

Nonetheless, the Beach Walks attitude is about taking some of the charge off of the language. Filtering is one thing; prejudice is another.

Here’s where I was headed tonight:

Beach Walk 226 OTR – Santa Fe Gallery Walk

Walk with me along Canyon Rd in Santa Fe to attend some gallery openings.

For those of you who are new here, I usually walk the beach with my dog Lexi in Hawai’i. But I am on the road traveling for my job, so you get to come along with me! I like to think of Beach Walks as much as an attitude as a place. A place where we explore the edges of the known world, and think differently.

“An artist’s world is limitless.”

My mom is a great fan of this show, and I am thinking of hiring her as a consultant. It was her idea to do the gallery walk while I am here working in Santa Fe. Working solo without Secret Cameraman, I am a little reluctant to march into crowded gatherings. Indeed, within the first block I had a gallery security guard approach me with a stern “no filming” admonishment before I had even set foot on their property! It was fine though, as it helped me get mentally prepared to collect my footage. Grace showed up, and I was able to meet two talented artists:
Rick Stevens, represented by the Hunter Kirkland Contemporary Gallery
Lynne Loshbaugh, represented by the Hahn Ross Gallery
Thank you to both galleries and artists for inviting us into your world.
