Beach Walk 296 – Parenting Phases

My friend Stacey tells us about the phases of parenting. It’s hard to be good at every step.

I had never thought of it this way, and it makes so much sense! We can’t all be good at everything. I think this knowledge can help take some of the stress out of parenting. I think it also helps kids give their parents a little slack too. Most parents really are doing their best after all I believe.

Beach Walk 252 – The Challenge of a Perfect Childhood

Growing up in paradise has its challenges too.

Two different friends have mentioned to me in the past 24 hours that their teenage children are reluctant to leave the island. “Mom, I just want to live at home.” It’s true – with our relaxed lifestyle and the warm, extended ‘ohana of so many aunties and uncles, who would want to leave?

But it’s the parents’ job to help the keiki leave the nest at some point. And as a traveler myself, I can vouch for many other wonderful places in the world alongside Hawai’i!

We’re on Akimbo! That is a service that lets you download selected programs from the internet and watch it on your TV. Beach Walks is one of only 8 video podcasts to be accepted!
