Beach Walk 625 – Have you heard Reef Radio?

Back in January we launched our social community, The Reef.

It’s a great place to hang out and meet the brilliant wonderful people who watch and love Beach Walks! Yes, it is free. And you can create your own pages and upload your own pictures, music, and videos.

We have just now released Reef Radio! It’s a keiki (child) for now, but you can start listening to our downtempo and contemporary Hawaiian music. Coming soon we’ll be inserting Beach Walks excerpts and also opening it up to screened, like-minded advertisers.

P.S. I will be at Podcamp NYC this Fri and Sat.

Beach Walk 624 – To You Sweetheart, Aloha

I am actually in New York as I write this, and it gave me so much pleasure to be immersed in some archive files and music I found when putting this episode together.

If you’ve been to Hawaii you’ve likely heard this style of music either on the radio or while sipping mai tai’s at the beach watching the sunset. Or maybe as you view Kanoe Miller dance the hula at the Halekulani Hotel. It conveys so beautifully the feeling of those swaying palm trees; I just love it.

I also want to dedicate this to Tommy Sea, who is finally selling his house in Michigan and will be Hawaii-bound very soon. It’s been a long haul for him, and he certainly understands Aloha. If you liked this, please purchase the song; info immediately below.

Beach Walk 618 – Whatevah u Think Part 2

As promised in yesterday’s episode where I interviewed the musician, WuT, here is him singing a song for us, plus some more bonus interview at the end.

At the end of it all, we realized it is not possible to squeeze the richness of a person into a few minutes.

Shane did an awesome job on these two episodes – three cameras and first class editing to bring you a first class talent. Find more artists from Hawaii at Doctor Trey’s Recording Studio.

Beach Walk 617 – What U Think

It has been a while since we have connected with the local music scene.

As the rains continued, we got a chance to visit Dr. Trey’s recording studio and meet a new, WuT. I think you will find his story interesting (some things similar and some different compared to other up and coming artists). Today’s episode is an interview. We’ll have his music on the next episode. For now, I nominate WuT as one as the kindest, gentlest hip hop/rap artists around.
