Beach Walk 722R – First Lumiere, For Rupert

The lumiere film-making tradition means no sound, no editing, no camera movement – and in this case, one minute duration. Enjoy the serendipity! You can read the original show notes and comments here for more in-depth discussion.

Beach Walk 710 – The Witches of Lanikai

It was a dark, cold, stormy day on the water but the witches of Lanikai were out paddling in their pointy black hats. Lexi was warding off the bad spirits.

Beach Walk 632 – Island Adventure

Beauty Alert!!!

We had friends visiting and borrowed the Foti family canoe, the Waʻa Lele, and paddled out the Mokulua Islands. The sunshine and the water and the colors are just beautiful! Dan Brown brought his HERO camera rig for the canoe, Mindy Clark of outriggercanoe.blogspot.com steered us, and friends Jeff and Carlos (you met them in Episode 369 along with Stacey (Episode 296) and Kaile (Episode 572, and I had a great trip. Secret Cameraman and Lexi rounded out the beach crew.

FWIW, Shane (Episode 445 The Secret) spent 10 hours editing this episode. We have fabulous music from Cubworld – who will be on the show in a couple of weeks! Please go buy his music here.

Please welcome and check out our show sponsor, Primo Water. Primo Water is a new, environmentally-friendly water bottled in a natural plastic made from plants, a renewable resource grown on American soil.

Beach Walk 624 – To You Sweetheart, Aloha

I am actually in New York as I write this, and it gave me so much pleasure to be immersed in some archive files and music I found when putting this episode together.

If you’ve been to Hawaii you’ve likely heard this style of music either on the radio or while sipping mai tai’s at the beach watching the sunset. Or maybe as you view Kanoe Miller dance the hula at the Halekulani Hotel. It conveys so beautifully the feeling of those swaying palm trees; I just love it.

I also want to dedicate this to Tommy Sea, who is finally selling his house in Michigan and will be Hawaii-bound very soon. It’s been a long haul for him, and he certainly understands Aloha. If you liked this, please purchase the song; info immediately below.

Beach Walk 594 – Seeking the Simple

I was reading about the French trader who committed over $7 billion in fraud. People have discussed how to prevent this in the future.

Naturally many minds head towards complicated procedures, custom programming and tracking software and so forth, when actually, something as simple as a mandatory vacation away from the office can be a powerful intervention tool. I love it when very simple and human remedies can be found. I am going to give extra attention this week to seeking simple solutions.
