About Beach Walks

photo of rox and her dog lexi

I am Rox. Roxanne. Miss Darling. Roxy. Along with my Secret Cameraman and “everything partner” Shane Robinson, co-caregiver to Lexi, one of the luckiest dogs around. A person happily living my dream life come true in Hawaiʻi.

And still facing the usual challenges of keeping clients happy, sorting out the occasional temper burst with my guy (mine or his), doing what it takes to get those bills paid — you know the sort of things that are just part of a normal life.

But most every day that I am here in Hawaii, I go to the beach to walk and swim with our dog Lexi, and Secret Cameraman comes along so we can share it with you. (Other days I am on the road or we do something special here in Hawaii!) We’ve had over 2 million downloads and have some of the smartest and kindest people in the world watching our show – which was started by accident, by the way, back in February, 2006!

Comments and Testimonials

“Beachwalks keeps me returning and not going to other destinations. After going to Hawaii, I never wanted to go to the Caribbean again, even though it is much closer to me on the East coast.”Celeste Dickson, Yoga Instructor

Video Discovery #6 of 2009: Easy to Create Video Series “…with her fabulous Beachwalks with Rox series. Cranking out hundreds of Beachwalks videos builds relationship, trust and the size of your audience. People look to you, not as “some marketer” but as a friend, and can actually feel something is missing if you skip a day.”

What a surprise, unprompted intellectual discourse, on the beach no less!
“Having attended UCSD and once the campus newspaper editor, I’m on the record as declaring beach + brain is a complete non sequitur. And I won’t even add “blonde” and bikini” to my amazement because I didn’t notice such accessories in my rapt attention to the discourse. Of equal impact, simply astounding in the podcast genre, is the utterly smooth camera work. Very impressive. Don’t keep this individual secret! You have yet another fan. (My mistake; as a 20 year fashion photographer, I should have noticed the attire is not a bikini. Honestly, I wasn’t looking, the rap and the setting had me mesmerized.) – Douglas Hopkins

What to watch on the web
Online video may still in its infancy, but there is already a dizzying amount to watch. The quality is often questionable – but there are some good places to dip a toe into the online video ocean. One of the most successful video blogs is Beach Walks with Rox, made by Hawaii resident Roxanne Darling’s, who delivers soothing and spiritual thoughts about life while walking her dog Lexi.
