Beach Walk 731 – Juggle!

One of the things that is becoming well understood these days is how no one knows everything and how we can really benefit from providing energetic support to each other. One way this plays out, is in how the Beach Walks philosophy has contributed to a new book by Ian Sanders, Juggle! Rethink work, reclaim your life. Now, I have the luxury of seeing some of the ideas I’ve pondered put onto the page, co-mingled with several great minds! And the opportunity is to continue reflecting and putting more of it into practice – taking ideas into action.

In this episode I talk about Chapter 7 – Get Unplugged. Taking time off from the treadmill of life’s ingrained habits and automatic assumptions is a powerful juggler’s tip. I am learning from Ian who has transformed his own life. I am hoping my walk catches up with my talk this year.

Hawaiian word:
Juggle: hoʻoleilei

Thank you for the gift of Beach Walks! It remains a treasure as you share your thoughts with us, Lexi’s energy, and the sound of your laughter again, Rox โ€“ it is a wonderful thing.

Also, congrats to Ian on his recently published book!

  5. …and speaking of juggling. We’re among a whole passel of folks who’re grateful that you’ve kept this one in the air for so long. And like a whole passel of other folks, we’re looking forward to the next 731+. We’ve all been with you and your family these last several weeks. Thanks for bringing your inspired and inspiring dad into our lives.

  6. Welcome back. It’s great to see you and the beach again!

  7. How fun to see your philosophies replayed back to you! I always knew your gifts through Beach Walks were far reaching, but this book really proves it is like throwing rocks in a still lake. You never know how far the ripples will travel. Hey, that makes for some cool word play. Rox. A rock creates waves. A rock is someone others count on. Even if you decide to never do another show, you have already created a wonderful gift that can be shared over and over again.

  8. Welcome back, my friends! So nice to see you in this new episode.

  9. I’m still happy after experiencing Hapa perform here in San Diego (La Jolla) last night. I woke up with a cup of 100% Kona coffee from The Big Island and now I got to watch a new Beachwalks episode on the computer direct and almost live from Oahu. What an awesome weekend!

The juggling topic is interesting. Yesterday I was on auto-pilot performing chores and tasks. What bothered me was a mixed feeling of accomplishment for each completed task, but a unsatisfying feeling as I just mowed down task after task without an emotional blip on the radar. I even put going to the concert in the task category and felt nothing until I was there.

Speaking of the concert, of the 3 gents in Hapa, I’m most familiar with Nathan Aweau. When he walked onto the stage reality hit and auto-pilot switched off. It was a wonderful 2 hour escape and I even got to shake the hand of Charles Kaupu as we left.

Otherwise and in general I’m doing more and better (tasks and chores in life), but it’s not hitting the spot (if that makes sense). Maybe I’m not juggling correctly – hmmm?

  11. Hiya Rox ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope this message finds you well. I’ve been juggling things in life a lot myself lately. Have a beautiful Sunday ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Dear Friends, it is wonderful to be back for me too! A slow transition however. Thank you so much for the comments and love.

    My heart to yours, aloha.

  13. I have missed your videocast for some time now, and didn’t know that you lost your dad. I’m so sorry.

I lost my mom in November, and I miss her every day. Blessings to you and your family.

  14. Thanks for the mention Roxanne – it was great to see my book out there on the beach in Hawaii!

You’re right that sometimes we have to re-focus and re-prioritise our juggling and things need to slip in and out of the to-do list. It’s all about managing time and trying to stick to where your passions are (often, easier said than done)….

    Happy Juggling,
    all the best
    Ian

  15. WELCOME BACK!! So happy to see Beachwalks back. Oh, and I wanted to tell Rox that I love the shirt.

  16. WELCOME BACK ROX!!!

Somehow I knew you’d be back. It’s so wonderful to see you and Hawaii again! And juggling is such a timely discussion right now, feels like everyone is doing more and more of it.

I understand it will be a slow transition doing the show again.
Just remember your Father’s wisdom and to take it one day at a time. ๐Ÿ™‚
