W00t! The sun is out!
Praise be to the weather. Let’s face it: kind words and genuine praise just feel good. It is all too common when talented people take on a type of snobbery, as if they have earned some form of superiority. I much prefer to give my business to people who are competent and friendly, like the people I have recently discovered at J Salon. It is a good reminder to me as I myself can sometimes fall into the snob mode too. I talked about in Bitterness or Bliss.
Hawaiian Word:
Hoʻomaikaʻi: praise

There is happiness all around with the sun, Rox, and even Lexi romping like a puppy today. What a great start to ‘our’ day, as we are encouraged to share some praise towards others throughout the day. The benefits will generate positive energy to both the giver and receiver, making for a happier world all around. ๐
May I start by saying you and Shane rock, Rox — many, many thanks!!
…wow, I’m exactly the same about shopping – if the store and the staff have a bad vibe, I go somewhere else too.
And on the flip side, I feel bad when I’m in a store and the staff is dealing with a rude customer.
I guess I just don’t value orneryness.
Aloha!
Greetings from the Nashville, TN!
My son Brad, a resident of Honolulu, introduced me to your website. My wife and I appreciate your insights and info. We’ll be visiting Honolulu again the first week of March. Perhaps we’ll be fortunate to see you on one of your strolls. Mahalo
Have a great day!
You new haircut rocks Rox! Lovin’ it! ๐
I’m going to guess… “Jessee” cut it??? ๐
@Stefan – Darn! We will be off island the first week of March. ๐ I am truly sorry for that. Maybe Brad can be on one of these days?
@Shawnotay – glad you like it, and with that wind, it’s not being done much justice! Miss Monique was the adorable master. We were both hugging afterwards, as the services that day made both our days! What she did for me – amazing and obvious. For her, I was a customer who said “Do what you want to give me a new look!” and stylists don’t get that too often.
I watched #587 first today and thought to myself “her hair looks really good today”—I’m surprised I even noticed (usually pretty oblivious to things like that). On platic bags: I always think I need them to do the cat litter boxes, but in reality could probably use paper or the new bags like you got for your walks. I do take all my extras to the store for recycling, that is one improvement made in the last year or so. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
I am always amazed at not only you and your insight, but some days the colors are to the point of distraction. I have to watch several times to get the message. This is one of those times. First I was lost when you started talking about the sun and I could feel it on my face and chest and just closed my eyes and went with it. Then, the second time I was mesmerized by the colors. Thinking, how could anything really be that beautiful. Then I remembered the artist! Finally, the third time I got the message and it is one of the ways I conduct my life. I always try to find something to compliment the person I am with, on. Always, sincerely. Sometimes, that makes me really have to think about it, which makes me get to know that person when I otherwise would not. I have made many good friends, which otherwise I probably would not have liked, because I had to really dig into them to find that goodness. Aloha
I have a few thoughts over on The Reef for our upcoming celebration for BW. . . come over and visit, throw in your thoughts, and chat a bit.
The money is there, we just need to determine the prizes…
“Change is the only constant” … or is it “The only constant is change” … every time I get it memorized, someone changes it … (wink)
Until that time. . . Earl J.
