Milestones are wonderful gathering points for energy but they can also bring unwanted pressure when the resources to make a happy fuss just aren’t there.
Today was a beautifully perfect day on the beach. We took two six-person outrigger canoes to Flat Island to ride the waves from the hot south swell that was in town, and were literally screaming with joy and excitement! In many ways, this was a great way to celebrate turning “300” although I was feeling some pressure to put on a big shebang in honor of the number!
One of the fundamentals of Beach Walks is that it has to work for me. In that way, I will be able to deliver something clean and clear for you. Whenever I (or my #2 little voices) start to nudge me towards thinking I have to put on the song and pony show for you, the energy gets squishy.
At the same time, I love doing this show, and we are constantly coming up with new ideas for fun stuff. In 2007 I hope to come up with more time!
Thanks for hanging in here with us, whether you are new or old to the show. I appreciate each of you. Now go tell some friends!

Happy 300th, Rox & S.C.!!! ๐
Keep on BeachWalkin’! ๐
Congratulations! You won’t have to wait as long for the next milestone at 365 (one year)? Wish i was out in that canoe with you.
Congrats on #300. You are the perfect start to my day. Thank you and SC and Lexi for all the work you do to put this show on every day. You are the best.
Congratulations on reaching the 300 milestone!
I think I know a bit about what you are saying regarding this day being another day. Many times I have had similar thoughts and feelings. Even now as the Christmas season is around I feel the pressure of things and it is uncomfortable. As a Christian, this holiday is to have a celebratory and worshipful meaning for me but it is too easy to forget about the good that this season can bring and get caught up in the stress of it all. But each day is just another day. And each day is special and beautiful and a gift in of its own. Each day should be enjoyed. And each day is one which we should be thankful. Thanks for allowing me on this walk with you. I should probably visit your beach more often. Thanks for the talk and for the reminders.
Congrats on beachwalks 300, Rox! …and does that equate to a 3,000+ fetch milestone by Lexi? Like Lexi, you need to view this as a joy and not feel pressured to have to produce, although you are doing a tremendous help for more of us than you’ll ever know. Thank you for that. I found your great site about 30 shows ago, and am equally inspired as I back-peddle through your archives. I would think you could find sponsorships through the tourism industry, as it even makes me think about visiting the Islands again. Besides that draw, I’ve realized that we’re the same age and my black dog is named Lexie, too — but with an e. Happy holidays to you and Secret Cameraman. Maybe perchance, on April 1st, secret cameraman will do the beachwalks while YOU do the shooting? OK, I am laughing; but he is gaining popularity, too! Aloha.
Congrats on 300 Rox!!!
You’ve come along way…and we’ve walked in a mile of your beaches. Lexi and your day to day insites are what make this site so great. Keep up the great work…and aloha from Texas ๐
Rox & Secret-
From a cold and dreary Virginia, CONGRATULATIONS on # 300! You folks–and Lexie–have made the days of a lot of people very much brighter for nearly a year. Now we’re looking forward to the next 65 and then the next 365 after that. Thanks for bringing your Windward sunshine & sand into so many lives. And a special thanks for pioneering this exciting new use of the web and for showing tomorrow’s vloggers how it should be done.
Semper Fi,
Carl
PS–And congrats on the three Vloggies. Shoulda been more.
Congrats on the 300th!
Thanks for 300 amazing thought-provoking shows, Rox, SC, and Lexi. Really enjoying watching this week as we are buried under a foot of snow in the 505! Happy Holidays!
Amy
