Beach Walk 297 – 5 Things

My friend Jen at Ebb and Flow tagged me for 5 things people don’t know about me.

And in keeping with the flow, I want to mention that Jen was tagged by Faux Press who was tagged by Chris Ritke, who was tagged by Markus Sandy, who was tagged by Josh Leo. It’s a popular thing at the moment.

As Secret Cameraman was editing the show, he told me, “Somehow this ended up being 5 things you love.” So I guess that is one of the main things about me that I learned in this process: I love love. I love loving, I love being loved, I love the pleasures of life.

Lets face it. If you watch this show on a regular basis, you’ve heard lots of my life stories! I don’t have many secrets left. Though I don’t think I have talked about running away to California when I was 17 to look at colleges yet. And if you have things you want to know? Well leave a comment and I’ll be happy to do a Part 2!

In preparing this post though, I learned that the whole 5things was started by someone toying with “viral” marketing. I don’t like the energy of that. And the other thing? It feels a little cliquey (as in who gets tagged and who does not). So please consider yourself tagged if you are reading this. I’d love to know more about you. Make a movie or leave a comment. Tell me something I don’t know, because you know I love learning new things!

  1. I love the new conch graphics! “Yes” for more about Thailand. Aloha, B

  2. hahaha WOW! loved those ’80s pictures of you! I’ve been wondering what Rox looks like “with hair”. Classic! ๐Ÿ˜€

oh… and my internet connection choked when you mentioned “dry, cool and very muscular”…

were you talking about S.C.? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Thanks so much for the hairstyle history pics. And I agree with you about the “tagging” thing being kind of cliquey. But let me think on it and maybe I’ll email you my list if I can up with five even semi-interesting things. And I’ve also got to think of a good question for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Good show.

  4. mmmn. I didn’t even considered the cliquey idea….i thought it was a cool idea for an interactive game. I really didn’t know it had anything to do with marketing.
I guess I should be more careful. i am not too aware of vlogger politics.
oh well. I can be a bit naive sometimes.

I liked seeing the picture of you with red hair. I used to have pink red hair like that in high school!

  5. Love the new graphics at the end! Fun idea for a show, thanks for sharing all the tidbits and the great photos. Reminds me that I have 80’s Jersey hair photos of myself ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Who knew the hair would be so popular!

As for the tagging, it was/is a lot of things. Definitely a fun way to move energy through and among friends and strangers. I was thinking of people I did NOT know to whom I could send a tag…to find out more. But I tend to rely on the energy more then the obvious facts, and there was something squishy about this. For the record Jen, none of the squishy came from you; I was touched by your thoughtfulness.

My point was that we can take a cool idea and do it for ourselves – I’m expanding it on the one hand and not using the official “5things” tags on the other hand. Yes, Beach Walks might miss out on some of the viral marketing, but we also get to play the game our way.

And isn’t this so very “Beach Walksian” – an experience that can take on so many different concepts and energies.

Bill: SC is indeed a Scorpio, for which the snake is a totem. How insightful of you! And, this makes you the gazillionth person to suggest a relationship between the animal snake and the other male energies. Congrats! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Yes, when I got that email from Markus I immediately thought of bad things like MLM or even worse – and was just going to ignore it. And now you link to news that this whole thing may be some scheme – or maybe not. But who cares? As you say: ‘play the game our way’. I think it’s great!

And plus: I couldn’t ignore it – it came from my good friend Markus – and my good friend Josh Leo before that. I’d probably do any crazy thing they ask for!

Hm. I don’t know about snakes – they give me the creeps. But Thai? Yes! Big dogs that bring a ton of dirt into the house every day? You bet, wouldn’t want to be without it!

  8. hahaha Thanks!

    … I do what I can. hehe ๐Ÿ˜€
