Growing up in paradise has its challenges too.
Two different friends have mentioned to me in the past 24 hours that their teenage children are reluctant to leave the island. “Mom, I just want to live at home.” It’s true – with our relaxed lifestyle and the warm, extended ‘ohana of so many aunties and uncles, who would want to leave?
But it’s the parents’ job to help the keiki leave the nest at some point. And as a traveler myself, I can vouch for many other wonderful places in the world alongside Hawai’i!
We’re on Akimbo! That is a service that lets you download selected programs from the internet and watch it on your TV. Beach Walks is one of only 8 video podcasts to be accepted!

I heard someone say recently that “Money doesn’t make you happy, it just makes you suffer in comfort”.
This is so true! I myself am in my freshman year at college and anxiously awaiting the day that I turn Hawai’i and get to swim in the ocean once more. Growing up there my entire life I was anxious for adventure but at the same time extremely saddened to leave. I’m happy with my college experience so far, and it has definitely made me realize how much I really do love Hawai’i!
