Malcolm Alexander turns dyslexia into a thriving art career.
For those of you who are new here, I usually walk the beach with my dog Lexi in Hawai’i. But I am on the road traveling for my job, so you get to come along with me! I like to think of Beach Walks as much as an attitude as a place. A place where we explore the edges of the known world, and think differently.
Malcolm Alexander is a Santa Fe artist, with seemingly endless fascinating stories. A dyslexic child of an auto engineer father, he struggled to keep up with school and family expectations. But he is persistent and creative! His early work was largely in tribute to both athletes and the workers who built much of America – farm workers, oil field workers, and miners. In the mid-80’s he made a dramatic switch from representational sculpture to abstract art.
He speaks to may groups on dyslexia and continues to create large bronze sculptures that can be seen at Ventana Gallery in Santa Fe, NM.

I love New Mexico great piece Rox.
Safe travels.

Hi Smithie – thanks for your comment. The QT works, but it waits until the entire movie has been downloaded, which can take a few miutes especially on a long show as this one is. I am using a new version of the encoding sw, and for some reason it does not play progressively. We will work on this, as I find it irritating!
Enjoying all your off-beach episodes! And hope all is well back in Hawaii after the earthquake today! keep us posted.
