Tony Katz and I talk about the whole skinny is bad/good thing as Beach Walks goes on the road for a few weeks.
For those of you who are new here, I usually walk the beach with my dog Lexi in Hawai’i. But I am on the road traveling for my job, so you get to come along with me! I like to think of Beach Walks as much as an attitude as a place. A place where we explore the edges of the known world, and explore new ways of thinking about all kinds of different things.
My guest today is Tony Katz of Talk Show on the Go. On the surface, Tony and I are quite different – from gender, to hair color, to many of our opinions. What I love about Tony is what a marvelously articulate and entertaining speaker he is, and how willing he is to engage with people who don’t necessarily agree with him. That’s a very “Beach Walks” attitude.
I’d love to hear your comments, so let us know what you think!
Hawaiian words

Hi Rox:
It was great, great, great to meet you at the expo. I’ll email you a copy of the picture that I took with you. Hope to see you again soon.
Most people aren’t aware that models are chosen to fit prototype clothing created by the manufacturers. Imagine the expense if you had to make several outfits, not knowing which model you were going to get to walk down the runway in your new collection. Instead, manufacturers create outfits in one size and hire models to fit that one size.
Meanwhile, impossible and unhealthy standards are being presented for women that don’t naturally have those body dimensions to attempt to emulate in order to “be attractive”. If you look at “Star Trek” or movies coming out of the 60’s, the standard was more curvy/voluptuous. What’s selected as attractive is getting thinner, while the American population is getting more overweight each year.
Something’s got to give…..
